Nation done with politics of mud-slinging, claims Shehbaz | Pakistan

LAHORE: The Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that the nation of 210 million people is tired of the negative politics of a party [Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf] known for taking U-turns.

“Some political rivals have made records of levelling false and baseless allegations against me,” Shehbaz said in a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz’s (PML-N) Sindh leader Saleem Zia.

He added that there is now no room for the politics of mud-slinging and abuse in Pakistan.

“The PML-N government has made new records in serving the public,” the Punjab CM claimed, adding that even international organisations have praised the ruling party’s transparent policies.

He also said that he is confident that the nation will not let anyone hinder their changing faith.

“Pakistan is on its way to becoming the country that Iqbal and Quaid dreamed of,” he remarked.

In an address in Mianwali, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had also lashed out at Shehbaz as he insisted that the Punjab CM should stop fooling the nation.

“For how long will you continue fooling the nation Shehbaz,” the PTI chairman said, adding that Shehbaz and his brother, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, have only fooled this nation.

“Nawaz has laundered Rs 300 billion but his family continues to be arrogant, and fails to admit its crimes.”

“One wants to gain sympathy by questioning [the Supreme Court’s decision] to disqualify him [from holding public office] while the other brother [Shehbaz] has not done anything to develop Punjab.”

The PTI leader had also alleged that all of the development in the province is only on paper and in the advertisements printed to promote the PML-N.
