Suspect in Perween Rehman murder arrested in Karachi | Pakistan

KARACHI: Police arrested on Tuesday one of the suspects in the Perween Rehman murder case from Manghopir area of Karachi.

The suspect has been identified as Amjad Hussain Khan, according to the police.

The suspect was absconding in the case registered against him in Pirabad police station, the police said,

Moreover, another case pertaining to porssession to explosive material is also registered against the suspect at Manghopir police station.

Police had arrested the prime suspect in the case, Rahim Swati, on May 7, 2016, during a shootout in Sultanabad area. Rehman was a vocal activist working against land and water mafia in the city.

According to police, the main accused Swati along with five accomplices had murdered Rehman in 2013. However, Swati refused to accept the charges against him.

Two fugitives in the case, Noor Muhammad and Ahsanuddin have been declared absconders by the Anti-Terrorism Court.
