JAMSHORO: Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani called former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf a murderer.
Rabbani who spoke with the press here on Saturday, said if Musharraf is brave he should return to Pakistan and face cases against him. The Senate chairman stressed that Musharraf was sitting in London and Dubai enjoying life.
According to Rabbani, Benazir Bhutto had written about Musharraf in different letters.
Earlier this week, Musharraf blamed Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari for the murder of Benazir Bhutto.
In a video message, Musharraf, the former army chief, said he was sending out this message as Zardari had personally called him out by blaming him for Benazir’s murder.
“I believe that the reason for the Bhutto family’s demise and the responsible person for Benazir and Murtaza’s murder is Zardari. In any murder, it should be noted who benefits and who loses. I lost a lot from Benazir’s assassination while Zardari benefitted,” Musharraf said.
Responding to the accusations, Zardari said Musharraf should return to Pakistan and face cases against him if he is brave.
Zardari questioned why clips of Musharraf in discos were being circulated if he had gone to seek treatment for his backache.
Zardari, reacting to allegations pertaining to Murtuza Bhutto’s murder, stated that Benazir had said that one Bhutto has been attacked and another is being targeted.
Electoral Reforms Bill 2017
When asked about the Electoral Reforms Bill 2017, Rabbani refused to comment stating this was a political matter.
However, Rabbani did state that parliament was the weakest institution when it should be the strongest.
In approving the Electoral Reforms Bill 2017, the Senate paved the way for Nawaz Sharif who was disqualified by the Supreme Court from the post of prime minister to regain the presidency of PML-N.
